This collection of management articles has been developed as a resource for the online business community by Traynor Kitching & Associates ("TKA"). TKA was formed by Ian Traynor in 1986 as a strategic marketing marketing consultancy. Ian had spent the previous 20 years in a variety of sales, marketing and strategic planning roles at board level in industrial companies. Over the next ten years TKA provided strategic marketing guidance and support to hundreds of businesses, supported by a network of qualified associated consultants. In the early 1990s, Ian started to look closely at the Internet and its possibilities as a marketing tool. This was at a time when Microsoft's Bill Gates was dismissing the Net as "a passing fad and not important" - see this article for more details on this. (Note that Bill also said "640K of RAM is enough for anyone"!) For about a year, Ian learnt all that he could about the Internet and internet marketing. He set up the UK's first marketing advice website in 1995, and that site, Marketing Magic, is still alive and thriving. TKA was a little early for the internet market in the UK, so in 1996 Ian joined one of the UK Government-supported small business help organisations as an Internet Adviser. He became its webmaster in 2001, responsible for running 8 of their websites. In the meantime, TKA was ticking over in the background. Early in 2005, Ian returned to run TKA as a full-time business again. But now, the consultancy is firmly established as an Internet Marketing consultancy. You can learn more about TKA's services at www.tka.co.uk We hope that you enjoy the Management Data Vault's collection of management articles, and that you will find at least some of them educational and helpful.
